  1. Reading The Use of Force

    1. Identify narrative viewpoint and interaction between characters.
    2. Examine authority, resistance and the narrator's reflections.
    3. Analyze tension and language choices.
  2. Critical response

    1. Evaluate responsibility and power through the assigned story.
    2. Distinguish the narrator's explanation from an endorsed position.
    3. Write a supported interpretive argument.
