After studying this topic, students should be able to:

  • Explain the scope and key elements of assignment and preparation.
  • Apply the relevant marketing concepts to a defined customer group, market or business decision.

Curriculum Scope

  • The subject teachers have to discuss with students on possible topics of the project work, availability and sources of literature, availability of data, data collection methods, appropriate tools of data analysis, etc. relevant to the subject within 10 lecture hours.

Detailed Microsyllabus

  1. Guided topic selection

    1. Discuss feasible services-marketing topics with the teacher.
    2. Check availability of literature and data.
    3. Refine objectives and the proposed scope.
  2. Research preparation

    1. Choose suitable data-collection and analysis tools.
    2. Plan sampling, permissions and ethical handling.
    3. Prepare an achievable schedule.
  3. Consultation allocation

    1. Treat ten lecture hours as the overall guided preparation allocation.
    2. Do not repeat that allocation as separate leaf-topic hours.
    3. Revise the proposal using teacher feedback.
