  1. Frequency-distribution construction

    1. Determine range, class width and number of classes.
    2. Specify limits, boundaries and class midpoints.
    3. Tally observations and calculate frequencies.
  2. Distribution checks

    1. Cumulative and relative frequencies.
    2. Treatment of gaps, overlapping classes and extreme values.
    3. Check totals against the original observations.
