  1. Debit and credit foundations

    1. Account structure and its two sides.
    2. Normal balances for assets, liabilities and equity.
    3. Revenue, expense and distribution accounts.
  2. Applying the rules

    1. Identify increases and decreases by account type.
    2. Record equal total debits and credits.
    3. Check entries against transaction substance.
