  1. Idea generation

    1. Sources from customers, experience and environmental change.
    2. Brainstorming and other prescribed generation methods.
    3. Develop alternative solutions to an identified need.
  2. Planning and selection

    1. Screen ideas using explicit criteria.
    2. Assess resources, feasibility and customer evidence.
    3. Select and refine the strongest supported idea.
